Normally, I would chalk up something like this to the troll in question having just piles and piles of money, and the girl in question being a money-grubbing skank.

I think you were on point with the “money-grubbing skank” idea…there are many times at the shelter when I have an extra bowl of bean chowder…the ladies simply flock to me at that point…and all I can assume it is based on my “soup-wealth”…so maybe that little ditty helps explain this phenomenon…
