Hello, your job is to greet me. That's your number one function as a HOST or HOSTESS. Please put down your wax pencil, peel your eyes from the very engrossing seating chart, and say hello, dammit! And then, if it's not too much to ask, don't run to the table so I have to jog to keep up with you. Please don't seat me next to the only other occupied table in the restaurant. If there are 10 stalls in a public restroom and only 1 is occupied, do you take one next to it? Or do you space yourself out? And if a customer wants to move to a different table, for whatever reason, DON'T TELL HIM OR HER "NO." Whew. I think I'm done now.
