This clip was sent to me today - it’s of David Letterman being totally mean to Richard Simmons. Which, considering how many times Richard Simmons said the word “steamer”, was totally justifiable. But there is a teeny tiny part of me who did feel kinda sorry for Richard Simmons.
I totally remember watching Richard Simmons on TV when he had his little exercise show when he first became famous - and I would cry and cry at all the sad fat stories. This is how much of a sap I am. There is just something about his shameless gayness and short shorts that endears him to me. I guess he appeals to the same part of me that loves Captain and Tennille. Does that mean I have a gay part?
Anyway, Letterman makes Richard look like the biggest idiot. It’s kind of awesome.

Letterman: How many people was that? six?
I thought Richard was going to have an aneurysm!
