Attention People In Dallas: You Have Retarded County Officials

So the other day, as county commissioners in Dallas were discussing problems associated with their central collections office which processes traffic tickets and other miscellaneous paperwork.  One of the commissioners, a white dude, said that he thought that the central collections office had “become a black hole” since there was so much missing paperwork.

Now. You know as well as I do that a black hole is a scientific term used to describe a part of space that has an enormous gravitational pull, such that nothing can escape it, not even light.  And even if you DIDN’T know that, you’d at least have HEARD of a black hole sort of in that context. Right?  And you have probably heard people use the term in exactly the way the commissioner dude did, because it’s a COMMON FIGURE OF SPEECH.

Unless of course, you’re one of those ignorant, idiotic Jesse Jackson-loving JERKS who thinks that anytime the word “black” is used EVER, it’s racist.  So here’s what happened.  One of the other commisioners, a black dude, interrupted the first commissioner with a loud, “Excuse me!” and then said that the office had actually become “a white hole” which first of all doesn’t even make sense and secondly should make all Dallas residents take immediate action to have this idiot removed from office.  But it gets even better.

A black judge who was there then DEMANDED AN APOLOGY from the first commissioner for his “racially insensitive analogy.”  You guys, I am not making this up.  This really truly honestly happened.  So the first commissioner, naturally completely BAFFLED by the absurdity of this whole thing, tried to insist that it was just a figure of speech, which of course it is, and a science term, which of course it ALSO IS.

Somehow, other county officials managed to get the meeting back on track.  But you guys, there is MORE.

After the meeting, when questioned about his reaction, the black commissioner tried to compare the use of “black hole” with the expression “jew you down” (when talking about bartering).  He said that phrases like “black sheep of the family” and devil’s food cake having a negative connotation versus angel food cake - all of that is wrong.  CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!?!??!

People in Dallas should write Judge Thomas Jones and Commissioner John Wiley Price and tell them they are complete imbeciles and that you’re embarrassed to have them represent your county in ANY WAY.  In fact, we should all write them - regardless of where we live.

See video of the commissioner moron here.  And here is a picture of him AT WORK, before he got his weave on.

Un-freaking-believable. Should white people be offended by terms like “whitewash” and “white papers”?

The stupidity of politicians never, ever ceases to amaze me.

When you are too ignorant to make a cogent arguement, you can always pull an idiotic race card from the bottom of the deck. I suppose Al Sharpton will show up to protest at the next county commission meeting (wearing his favorite crushed velvet sweat suit, I’m sure).

I live in Texas and reading this I just went yep, thats about right. Idiots at their best. I have heard these arguments before and all I can say is that there are far better examples of racism than this. When trying to fight racism you should avoid using these examples it just makes you look bitter and STUPIP to the point where anyone listening to you will not take you or the issue seriously but laugh at your stupidity. I know I do.
Again, just shaking my head at our idiotic leaders! Good thing I do vote!

The jack-ass in question, one John Wiley Price, has been pulling this kind of crap for twenty-plus years. The real problem is that his constituents keep voting for him based on these kinds of racially charged antics rather than what he might be able to accomplish to better their community. No surprise then that the areas of South Dallas County that he represents have been a cesspool for his entire tenure(reign). I’m of the opinion that he must have covered his tracks in the taxi company debacle better than the other famously dark-skinned and equally loud-mouthed city councilman Al Lipscomb and that’s the only reason he is still in office and not in jail like Al.

City and County of Dallas politics is the stuff of legendary buffoonery. For a good laugh or fifty ya’ll should read the Dallas Observer magazine online or their blog Un-fair Park.

I have to admit, this pissed me off more than anything has in a LONG time. When I saw it on the news it made me want to pull my hair out. John Wiley Price has always been one to stir the pot, so to speak, and cause a fuss anytime he thinks his rights have been violated. Apparently, anyone using the word black is violating his rights. He says we should not “pull the race card” but it looks like he is doing just that. I can’t believe my tax dollars are used to pay a dumbass like this. It actually makes me so angry my mind is blank and I can’t come up with a good mock. :@

After that remark he is going to be blacklisted at all the black tie affairs. Probably mad because they black-balled him at the country club. He be dealing in the black market too. (the grammar is intentional)You ever hit a patch of black ice? Don’t you always try and keep your business operating in the black? Oh well, if it looks like an idiot, sounds like an idiot….

The only person who made it into a racist remark is John Wiley Price. Have they officially redifined the word black to be racial in every sense of the word? Are we going to have to change newsprint to fuscia? Shall zebras be repainted to orange and white? What the hell, they don’t OWN it. Faux racism.

When you call 911 now they won’t send a “Black & White” they will send an African American Caucasian.

Not fair to label ALL our city officials retarted, but John Wiley Price can’t stand going a few months without making the local news. It is his birthright to be angry about…well…almost everything.
You should google him, and see some of the asnine arguments he’s made against ‘the man’ and how unfair he is.

    @bob, that’s freaking hilarious!

@Bob, you are TOO good! Also, it’s great to see so many people from Texas on this site! John Wiley Price has ALWAYS been a sh*t-stirrer. While I don’t live in Dallas proper, I am part of the metroplex(Arlington). I have to agree with Treeshaker. He is an attention whore, and anytime he is on the news, I get ready to start shaking my head from side to side, in disbelief of how asinine he is. He thinks he’s being the mouthpiece for all of his BLACK constituents. I just can’t understand how rational people can keep voting him in, year after year. It seems he’s been around forever and I think if someone digs deeply enough, they would definitely find SOMETHING on him so he can join big Al in jail.

When you use the word retarded to describe the judge you become as ignorant as he is. That word just demeans people with special needs. You don’t have to have a family member with special needs to know how much slurs and stereotypes can hurt.
I don’t want to take away your right to use the word. I’m a mom of a special needs child and I’m just hoping that you can see it through my eyes for a brief minute.
    Thanks for listening.

hshore - if you had any idea of the make-up of my family, you’d realize how absolutely absurd it is for you to suggest I should see through your eyes. I would venture to guess I’ve seen as much if not more than you when it comes to dealing with special needs.

Here’s the deal with the word “retarded” and other similar words. You can either choose to get all bent out of shape and hurt by them, or you can realize that they are just words and take them in the context they were meant. That’s pretty much the same advice I would give John Wiley Price. ;)
I’m not suggesting everyone should run around calling people derogatory names. And I’m sorry if you’re particularly sensitive about the word “retarded”. I’ve chosen not to be, because to me it’s a total waste of energy. It used to be that calling something “dumb” was considered offensive to mute people. Somehow society overcame that. “Retarded” to me is much the same.

Sorry for the long-winded response - but when you call me “ignorant” after I write about a dude who’s waaaay oversensitive about a word, and then proceed to tell me you’re sensitive about a word I used to DESCRIBE the guy who’s too sensitive about a word, I can’t just let it go.
    :)
