Fabulosity™ High-Waisted Skinny Jeans…a.k.a…..Pure Evil Manifested in Pants Form

I saw these at JC Penney yesterday and totally cringed.  They were on a mannequin, and I gazed at them for almost two solid minutes with a look of pain and confusion on my face.  This trend must NOT be allowed to take hold!  They flatter NO ONE, despite what their ad says:

Play up your curves in these retro-inspired high-waist jeans! They cinch and flatten your waist so they look fab on all body types from naturally curvy to a more boyish figure.

Fabulosity can say whatever it wants, but I guarantee these would NOT look “fab” on me or anyone else I know.  All they would do is create some serious muffin-top and look like an Adam Ant constume.

OTOH, maybe the high-waist trend will stop the dreaded Cameltoe epidemic that comes from yanking low-riders up so far that they no longer feel as if they’re falling off your ass.

I dunno which is worse - Cameltoe and plumber’s crack on a middle-aged woman, or high waist muffintop…

I had to laugh… the neighbor’s cat who just had kittens and always visits me just left, and having just noticed her uh… cat boobs (something you don’t normally see unless they’re milking) as soon as I sat back down first thing I see is this horrific photo… and I thought “wow, the waist is SO high up them buttons might pass as cat nipples!”

    ….nevermind

Actually, these would eliminate muffin tops because they come up to your boobs. Or at least, they would on someone as short-waisted as I am. :)

THese look like jeans with a built-in corset. HATE.

I love the faux pockets. Like you are going to fake someone out into thinking you are wearing normal jeans. SIKE!

I cannot think of a worse trend to try and bring back. I have a 13 year old daughter with a cute figure, and I am going to start praying that she will never want anything even remotely close to this cluster!!!

Sigh……what’s wrong with having the waist of the jeans near to where the waist of the wearer is?

Unfortunately, the camel toe will never go away as long as women (and the occasional scary male - I’ve seen it!) insist they are a size “x” when in reality they are a “x” plus another size or 2. ick….

They have combined my most hated enemy, the skinny jean, with my second most hated enemy, the high-waist. There could not be a worse pair of jeans on this planet. Unless these came in acid wash. :D

They cut the top off of the Levis they’re no longer going to sell (yeah, no longer going to produce anything but the classic 501s), attached a cheap denim bustiere, and are calling it a fashion statement?

they remind me of overalls without the shoulder straps.

Wow, Plumbers crack, camel toe and muffin top. So many choices. And SnarkyBritches, I can see you now explaining to your daughter. Yeah, honey, the muffin top and plumbers crack were rough but I thought I’d never get through the great Camel Toe epidemic of the 2000’s.

I’m not a violent person, but I’d like to find whomever first declared that skinny jeans were flattering on everyone. That’s the dumbest fashion statement I’ve seen since Paris Hilton started wearing shirts with her own face on them. I’d rather risk cameltoe than squeeze my internal organs into a toothpaste tube with decorative buttons.

  12. 12 Woot

Wow, these are some kind of awful.

But NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING causes muffin-top faster than LOW-SLUNG jeans that are too small.

Girlfriend, I know they fit during the REST of the month, but do us all a favor & get a pair just for this special time, ok??

  13. 13 jenn

Dear God, Please do not make these jeans in a size larger than 6.

    Thank you.

  14. 14 KittyThePooka

    OH MY GOD! MOM JEANS!

Why are u guys hatin? I love those jeans and I am not a size 6 and I love the fact that they come in skinny legs too. If you are not into this trend then what in the hell are you guys wearin?

im sorry but these jeans ARE perfect for a girls figure. they would eliminate a muffin top because of the fact that they flatten the stomach. the jeans are modeled after the vargas or “pinup girls” of the 50’s. they were the most gorgeous women of the century and were at the top of the modeling community until Twiggy came aorund. high waisted skirts, jeans, and shorts also create a more sophisticated look. and i’m however very tired of seing the type of undergarments of my fellow female classmates. the only underwear I want to see is mine, i’d like to keep it that way.

theses jeans are cute on some people depending on how you wear them. but the picture up there makes the jeans look ugly i believe that this is the worst picture you could have ever gotten. and i totally agrre with nicole. and to the JENN i have seen plenty of plus sized women in these jeans and some of them look better than the smaller women. And i am particularly big myself and when i go shopping this weekend i am going to buy me a pair or two also.
