Dumbest. Criminal. Ever.

An alert and astute mockdocker sent us a link to a video of a dude trying to represent himself in court.  I say “trying” because anyone who represents themselves in court without the benefit of actually being a lawyer is officially an idiot.

But this guy isn’t your average everyday idiot.  No - THIS guy obviously feels like he’s stuck, and so he does the only thing he can think of, which apparently is to fake a heart attack.

But see - this doesn’t really fly with the medics and nurses and other emergency techs who happen to be in the courtroom.  So what does he do?  He acts like he’s unconscious, the ENTIRE TIME that the judge is telling him that basically everyone knows he’s faking and he’s going to forfeit his right to present any kind of closing arguments.

I LOVE when people do stupid crap like this.

Anyway, dude got 42 years in prison for doing whatever it was he was trying to represent himself as NOT doing, which ought to be plenty of time to practice perfecting his fake heart attacks, or reading up on his case law.

I have to confess I’ve watched this video three times now, and it just gets funnier and funnier. I’ve worked in some courtrooms where we had some rather histrionic behavior, but never anything as dramatic - or hilarious - as this one!

Oh, man! I love this video! I have always said that people will try the stupidest excuses to get out of facing the consequences of their actions, but this takes the cake! I can hardly wait to send a link of this to my hatchet-wielding co-workers!

I love how the judge just keeps going - “Sir, I’m going to return in five minutes”, like this guy is going to give it up at this point. He seriously should have actually looked up “heart attack symptoms” and at least tried one of them - and “playing dead” I’m sure is not one of them.
