Why?

Why why why why WHY do women do this???  Why do they subject themselves to the torture of ripping perfectly good eyebrow hairs from their follicles, only to then DRAW THEM BACK ON???  I mean, I can understand shaping…contouring…manicuring.  But this?  No.  I do not understand. And as someone who has the worst “hair genes” on the planet and is desperately lacking in the eyebrowular area, this process confounds my mind and infuriates my soul.

I don’t understand it either. And I have always been told by the lady that waxes by brows, be very careful plucking because sometimes those hairs dont grow back

So true! My mom used to have beautiful Brooke Shields eyebrows, and she let some dumb girl pluck them when she was in high school, and they never grew back. What a shame.

My own eyebrows have gotten thinner and thinner over the years. I wish I had known that some of those hairs don’t grow back! But there are people who do this on purpose and I don’t understand it for the life of me. She looks like she has a FEW hairs left, near the middle, but that’s about it.

My question is: what does she look like when they’re not painted on?

to understand is one thing, to accept is another. for my part, i don’t accept the fact that we women need to wax so much to be considered “normal”. see that pic of simon le(not so)bon, the other post. i read a comment somewhere else, “would he still be married to yasmin if SHE looked that fat?”

I went to the salon to have my eyebrows waxed many years ago just for the experience. (OK, I was curious). The lady told me she couldn’t wax my brows because there would be nothing left. I am also lacking in the eyebrowular area.

My sister’s ex-mother-in-law had some sort of stencil she would use to paint her’s on, but she would put them on really high and always looked surprised.

I always wondered - do you wash those off at night? If you do, your significant other sees you in the morning sans eyebrows. If you don’t wash them off, what does your pillow case look like?

I pluck my eyebrows, but only to keep them in line. I don’t pull them all out!

I have rather fair hair, but my eybrows are much darker than my head hair. If I thin them out, they don’t look as dark. So far, this thinning hasn’t seemed to done any permanent harm. If I didn’t do it, I would have a unibrow that looked like groucho marks mustache over my eyes. Well… not quite that dark, but you get the picture. I can only hope that all this plucking will stop the hair from growing between my brows. So far it hasn’t, and I have been plucking for over 10 years.

I used to be lazy and go in once a month to have my eye brows waxed. Now, I just pull out the tweezers about 2 or 3 times a month and do a little plucking myself. Easy peazy, just don’t over do it.

Don’t know or care about the eyebrows but her left eye looks upside down.

Anyone check out the side ads from Google? The one for “Eybrow Restoration” is pretty freaky.
