AMY WINEHOUSE IS STILL ALIVE!
I think the fact that she continues to be physically capable of drawing in breath, day in and day out, legitimately makes her some sort of superhero.
You know who else is a superhero? This chick that was on Intervention last week - who snorted like 10 cans of duster a day. Yeah - the duster for your computer keyboard. TEN CANS A DAY. And apparently, one third of people who TRY an inhalant like that, die the first time they try it. So the fact that she was emptying 10 cans DAILY I think legitimately makes her every bit as much of a superhero as Amy Winehouse. See the duster chick below - at about 2 min in they turn it into a Walking on Sunshine music video (which is kind of awesome), but believe me, you’ll have gotten the jist of it well before that. Enjoy.

Wow, these two put together almost equal a whole woman! One can surmise that their drugs of choice have obliterated their desire to eat. Sigh. If only my problem was appetite-suppressing drugs instead of bulemia and procrastination (you know, where you binge but them put off purging until it’s too late).
What’s amazing is the number of enablers around these people. I saw the intervention, and her mother and/or sister would buy the inhalent for her because she would cry about being molested 20 years before. And for Winehouse…she needs serious help. Maybe Britney’s dad could be her conservator too…he’s doing a great job with Brit!
You may not have made that little clip Mockerana, but you guys hit a new low on the mock dock. That chick was pathetic. That duster stuff is another thing they should redesign. Whatever chemical she is getting high off of, do they really need to put it in the duster? They could also limit how much a person buys at one time. How many people buy 3 or 4 cans of that stuff at a time??
It just goes to prove what the brain will do to get its fix. To hell with anything and everything else including it’s own body.
That duster is expensive - that’s a spendy habit she had going there. Somebody should have subjected her to an intervention long before she got to 10 cans a day.
I don’t think you’ve hit a new low, in fact, I’m glad you brought it to light because I didn’t know much about it.
is she actually still trying to perform?? Seriously? Are people actually letting her?
OMG… is anyone else completely addicted to Intervention (no pun intended). I love the red neck meth addicts who try and make a run for it…
Amy Winehouse is a wreck… and I think she’s kind of freakish with her deep voice coming out of her tiny body…
We hit a new low? JUST NOW?!? Wow - I would have thought we’d have turned off self-righteous folks waaaaay before now.
I don’t think they need to limit the number of cans people can buy. They’ll just go to 18 different stores to get as much as they want. If I have to start showing my driver’s license at Staples like I do at the drugstore to get one lousy box of sudafed, I’m going to be really irritated. Seriously, have any meth labs really shut down because of the driver’s license rule? People who are addicts will get drugs, regardless of what restrictions are put on them. Restrictions just make it more inconvenient for all the non-drug users. Kind of like gun laws. If you’re a drug dealing gang member intent on shooting someone, you’ll get a gun, and probably not the legal kind. And I guarantee you won’t have to sign a form or have a waiting period. That’s just not how criminals roll.
Ele - I LOVE this show. Love love love it.
If it’s not the Duster, it would be something else. We can’t put restrictions on everything. There is this thing called “personal responsibility”. There is a reason she’s doing this. However,if I was her mom, I would have tied her to the chair and taken that stuff away from her instead of just sitting there watching her do it. I have a feeling that if this chick was 700lbs and confined to her bedroom, her mom would be the one giving her the donuts and cheeseburgers and then whine about how fat she is.
You can’t take things off the market because a few individuals abuse them. All kinds of cleaners, auto products, paints, glues, personal care products, over the counter medicines and even food products. There is just and endless list. If someone wants to drink poison you’re not going to stop them without locking them up.
Agree with Bob. There’s always gonna be people wanting to get high, with just about anything possible. I still hear of people dropping dead for picking the wrong mushroom… you’d think with so much info out there people’d try to chose the least risky stuff… HA!
I saw Amy on a Later With Jools Holland show when she just started out, and let me tell you…I was blown away. She was incredible. It’s a shame she’s done this to herself.
And yes, I think Jeff Von Vonderan is going to see me one day about being addicted to Intervention. “I’m Jeff. There’s a bunch of people here who just love you like crazy. They’re going to say some things, and you’ll say some things, and then we’re done. OK?”
