Well Done, Obama

I just need to tell you that this will be a mock-free post.  I am utterly mockless right now, when I say that I am TOTALLY IMPRESSED by Obama’s reaction to the Palin “controversy.”  He said, “I have said before and I will repeat again: People’s families are off limits. And people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18 and how a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be a topic of our politics.”

He further said, when asked if his campaign had contributed to the rumors:  “I am offended by that statement. There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us.  Our people were not involved in any way in this, and they will not be. And if I thought there was somebody in my campaign who was involved in something like that, they would be fired.”

This is the absolute BEST response his campaign could have come out with, and I give him mad props for it.

We’ll now resume with our regularly scheduled mocking.

    I’m…speechless.

He’s a class act, that Obama.

Whether you’re D or R, I think it’s great when people know when to distinguish between what’s REALLY important to the nation and what stupid things to ignore. Well said Obama!

I agree with Captain Ana Banana.

Thank you for posting this, Ms. Mock.

  5. 5 Lioness

Hallelujah. A politician who is refusing to mudsling his opponent’s family. I’m sorry, but I’m getting tired of McCain’s apologies for not making his first marriage work… Like he was inviting Obama to start the word-off. I’m undecided, Ana Banana, does that count?

  6. 6 Captain Ana Banana

Of course it counts, Lioness. In fact, I kinda prefer it, cuz then you’re more likely to hear both sides out without the bias.

Although I gotta admit, at this point, EITHER candidate is a godsend next to W.

Wow - what a cool statement. Well done, Camp Obama.

    Thanks, Mock.

Sorry, it looks like a lot of blah….blah….blah to me. I mean, sure Obama doesn’t want to step in that. It would be political suicide.

I just want to know about this CHANGE and HOPE he’s been touting for like two years now. I happen to like America. I’m proud of America. I’m especially proud of our troops. This clearly seems to be not such a popular sentiment. Oh sure all these people who love the troops yet have sent them NO care package. How’s he going to CHANGE America? Let’s finally bring on the debates!!!!!!! Which by the way he’s avoided despite the fact he’s been saying (forever) that he’d debate McCain anywhere, anytime. NOT!! Makes him kinda a a man who is all talk, no action. I like action men. Bring it Obama.
