Freaky McBigFace Hathaway was seen on a red carpet (clearly) wearing this dress. And I am very curious to know what you all think about it. I have a feeling this is going to get some mixed reviews. You know what I think about it?
I think it looks like someone was making a dress out of a mound of fabric, and when they were halfway done cutting off the excess fabric, there was an emergency which required their immediate attention, and they left the dress with mounds of fabric still ON it, and someone walked in and found it and thought, “Oh - this must be the way they wanted this dress to be” and took it and gave it to Anne Hathaway as is.
I won’t say, “HATE” but I will say:
DISLIKE.

An unfinished Rose Bowl float…yeah. That’s what I’m seeing here.
Once I started looking at the top part I thought, “Okay, not so bad.” Then I reached the explosion of fabric. Who knows why she even bothered to accessorize.
Haha Daisy. It does resemble that, but the first impression I got was that she warpped really fancy drapes around herself, and bunched up the frilly parts to the back.
Honestly, this dress wouldn’t be that bad if she cut of all that garbage and left the little bit at the bottom.
wrapped* not warpped… yeesh
what color would you say that is??? storm cloud over bermuda? maybe its hurricane hanna?
Love the fabric, love the top, like the roses, but the Carmen Miranda side-bustle ruins everything. Oh, Annie, didn’t you have any of your gays around when you selected this one? They would have set you straight. Figuratively, I mean.
It’s not awful as a style. A bit flamboyant, but not horrible. I totally hate the color though. It immediately reminded me of rotting cabbage! ICK!
I actually think she looks nice in it. Although I don’t know how she’ll SIT DOWN in it. If the side bustle could be removed, it’d be a great couture dress. I wish my legs were forever long like that. But I’ll keep my normally proportioned facial features as is.
Geena Davis wore it better:

It’s not the most hideous thing I’ve ever seen, but even if I were feeelthy rich enough to blow my nose into $100 bills and had been invited to the most posh event ever on the entire planet, I wouldn’t buy that thing. I wouldn’t allow anyone to lend or give me that thing, either. It looks like it would be a real chore to sit in or move around in. I hope the color looks better in person, at least. It looks like sort of a seafoam greenish/greyish bleh.
How would someone walk in that? I mean, it seems as though she would be leaning to one side considering how much fabric there is. It just looks heavy on the one side anyway.
I think this IS what is called a “couture dress,” but for one thing, I think a premiere is far too informal an occasion to wear a couture gown. I’m not sure what you could do to the dress — to make the skirt short all around and leave it is just too plain. The color doesn’t photograph well — although I do like the green in the petticoat, it won’t look right if the entire dress is that color. Leaving the flowers on for interest is too overpowering for a short skirt — although maybe not. Then it would clearly be couture and at least not look like someone’s hand slipped as they were constructing it.
I don’t know — bleah.
She needs a dress like this to distract us from noticing she is so small in the boobular area. She even has extra poof on the bodice.
What do I think about it? I hate it. Does anyone else think of a pea**** when they look at this picture?
Oh for crying out loud…peac-o-c-k
I think it looks like one of those “can-can” dresses. My 6 year-old just said, “It looks half good.”
