I had a couple of friends who were the most ill-suited couple, so naturally they decided to marry. I collaborated with a couple of friends to give the couple a window herb garden (herb plants potted in a long, rectangular window box). We opted to do this instead of comply with the bride's request for a king-sized collaborative quilt containing personalized squares from everyone in their combined circle of friends. The herbs didn't even have a chance to die before the marriage was over. I wish I'd thought of the "tree planted in your name" thing! That would've saved me having to hunt around for herb plants at a really inconvenient time of year. As for Ivanna and #4, I'm surprised they made it this long.
