Why is she allowed to sing in public?
Actually, that’s probably not fair. I mean, if you just listen to this without looking at it, it’s awful, but it’s not monstrously awful. If you WATCH it though, then it’s monstrously hideously horribly awful. Those faces. Those stripes. That mouth. The back of the dress.
Wow. You know what? This is admittedly mean, but Jessica Simpson has one of those faces that just screams “I’m an idiot.” I know she can’t help that, and so I’m halfway kind of sorry to say that out loud, but it’s true.
You know I’m right.
First I have to say is…wow. That dress is awful for her figure! She’s already thickened up a lot since her Daisy Duke days (I can say this as I have thickened up since I started dating my boyfriend) and that dress does not do any justice to her width nor her height! The faces—wow…and man she butchered that song too. It’s sad. She just kind of rushed it too.
The “mom jeans” stylist who hates her is obviously still employed. Horizontal Stripes?! That dress looks like it’s from Frederick’s of Hollywood, and if the honor guard had live rounds, surely they would have shot her in mid song.
Ok so I just watched this without the music because I am at work…and first off let me just say those faces alone…wow…she appears to be screaming in an angry and painful fashion at whoever is listening to her. Secondly…shes opening golf courses now? I guess those royalties from “Employee of the Month” are drying up huh?
That was just awful. The dress, the “singing”, all of it.
I could listen to rap ALL day then watch her for one minute. And I totally hate rap.

I think the song is tough to sing; you have to be a really good singer to get it right. She’s not a good singer to start with, so this song only magnifies that point. And I think the fuller figure is good, but the dress is awful.
Horizontal stripes are NEVER EVER NEVER a good idea.

It really annoys me that people cannot seem to sing the national anthem ‘straight’. They have to add extra arias and notes that simply do not belong and do not add to the beauty of the song. It is a beautiful song if you sing it the way it was composed.

1. That was not the worst version I have heard of that song… But, I have non-profession friends (many of them) that could do it better.
2. That hair is NASTY. Like, has she washed it in years?
3. I like seeing a star with a normal figure (I’m built like her at my healthy/non-pregnant/walking daily weight)… But, those stripes… Ug.

Jessica & Mikey, My sentiments exactly. Why these morons have to try and show off their talent (or lack of)instead of singing it like it was supposed to be sung. This is not THEIR song, it is our national anthem and it should be respected by singing it the way it was meant to be. I get so pissed off every time I hear someone trying to add THEIR OWN STYLE to it. Write your own song and sing it anyway you want but if your going to sing our country’s national anthem, do it right. Just one of the many things that piss me off!

I watched it on mute so I don’t know how it sounds but I will say it was funny seeing her mouth make all those crazy faces without any words coming out.
As far as how she looks, I have never found her face to be attractive, but I am really becoming a big fan of her body anymore. She looks normal unlike all the scary skeletons walking the earth.
But if she is insecure about how she looks, she wore stripes so she’d look slimmer duh… granted they were horizontal stripes and not vertical ones, but hey she’s trying.
