The Mock Dock

I am going to detail my car.

If you’re laughing right now, then your reaction is exactly the same as Mr. Mock’s was when I told him of my intentions.

But I’m really going to! Mr. Mock is taking Mini-Mock to Mike’s carwash to do the outside, since I have a mild phobia of carwashes, and then when they get back, I’m going to detail the inside of my car.

STOP LAUGHING.

Actually, I had to ask Mr. Mock if “detailing” was the correct term for what I intend to do to my car. And he said, “Yeah – except since YOU are doing it, it’s probably more like cleaning versus detailing.” So I said, “But detailing sounds cooler, and I want mockdockers to think I’m cool.”

And here’s the thing. Several months ago, I bought Mr. Mock this huuuuuge box of car cleaning supplies from Griot’s Garage catalog. It was like a couple hundred dollars, and it was FILLED with all kinds of car potions. Just bottles and tubes and containers galore, all for the fabulousification of cars. So I asked him if he could let me use some of the potions, and he said, “None of that stuff is for the inside of cars – it’s all for the outside.” And I was like, “Wait. I spent a couple hundred dollars on a box of potions and out of the dozens and dozens of potions – NONE of them can be used on the inside of a car?” And he said, “That is correct.”

And so he’s going to make a pitstop at Autozone to find me some inner-car detailing potions. But that still doesn’t really answer the question about how the outside of a car could possibly need like 30 different potions to clean it. I will investigate this further after my detailing work is done, and report back.
