yeah it is a sword. He’s into a thing called ‘Cos-play’, where people at anime exhibitions or conventions dress as their faveorite charactors… and most look plain rediculous. lookit these guys;

The one on the left is supposed to be the main character from the ‘Devil may cry’ series of video games…He did a great job on his costume, considering you can tell who he’s supposed to be, unlike most of em.

I think that’s a sword. Don’t Japanese cartoons have swords that are like impossibly big or something? I don’t know, I’m a normal human.

I don’t think its fora ren fair… I’m thinking more like a Comic Con…. I think that purple thing is a sword, like the ridiculously huge ones in Final Fantasy video games.

Cas, it does look like that kid in Role Models!

I believe this is held at Renn Faire. You’d be surprised by the kind of people who show up dressed at a Renn Faire. There’s a ton of fairy women walking around, a couple of pirates, and a lot of chicks in corsets that may or may not be remotely period of the time frame.

But this kid looks like he dressed for an anime convention. Actually, I’m almost positive it must be some crazy Anime show that I haven’t seen cause I don’t own a tv. I believe that shield is actually a really large sword. And he’s possibly dressed as a female demon character of some sort and to get his pictures made.

I look at this picture and think of the movie Role Models and that Renaissance Faire thingy, but in this case it’s what can go very wrong!
