You Know What I Was Just Thinking About?

2009-11-11_155016

How much I love my bed pillow.  I have this pillow that is the perfect amount of sponginess, and it holds its shape no matter what, and it’s just the right blend of firm and soft and comfy.  I love it.  The problem is, I can’t remember for the life of me where I got it, and forever I’ve been trying to find a mate for it so that Mr. Mock has a matching one.  So far, no luck.

But that doesn’t really have anything to do with the picture above, except that when I cropped it down from the original photo, it reminded me of my pillow.

How old is your pillow? Do you wash it every two weeks? If you do then you need not read on.

Beds are a prime habitat (where 1/3 of mite life occurs). A typical used mattress may have anywhere from 100,000 to 10 million mites inside. (Ten percent of the weight of a two year old pillow can be composed of dead mites and their droppings.)

Avoid going to bed with wet hair. Moist hair and bedding attracts swarms of dust mites.

A good site to read on how often and how to wash your pillows:

For no particular reason, I was moved to publish this link to “Send Me the Pillow that You Dream On,” by Hank Locklin:

YUKKK!!! I take showers at night and go to bed with wet hair ALL THE TIME! I do have those pillow covers and wash my sheets/comforters a lot, so maybe I’m ok?

I think I’m less upset about the bed mites and more upset that my curiousity brought me to a two chair using beast. Here I was thinking about my bed pillow and all it’s glory, then my eyes get blindsided. That’s what I get…

She should be a stripper. She could make twice the money by giving two lap dances at the same time.
