I know you guys aren’t used to me being snarky about celebrities, and that it’s TOTALLY out of character for me, but I need to be able to speak freely for a moment about Katie Holmes’ body.
It’s weird.
I know she can’t help it, but you guys, she has the longest torso EVER. Like – unusually, bizarrely long. And it makes her legs look like tree stumps. And you know what exacerbates that? THOSE HORRIBLE SHOES.
Even her daughter Suri knows that a slight heel elongates the legs, and Suri is three years old. Could they not share a stylist?
Now, lest you think I’m just horribly mean to celebrities without ever giving them a break, I want to show you someone that looks absolutely perfect:
Carrie Underwood is FLAWLESS. See? I’m not always mean.
I think those shoes would be adorable with a 1″ kitten heel on them.

Not true! I don’t know enough about Carrie Underwood to know if I like her or not. I just think she looks amazing in that particular photo.
Carrie’s not THAT skinny. She’s skinny, but not ridiculously so. And Mockarena, she looks amazing pretty much all of the time. I have never seen a picture of Carrie Underwood where she looked bad.
Katie Holmes looks really skinny in the torso, but her legs look fat in comparison. It could be that they’re just stumpy and appear that way to me.
I agree with Zachary. Katie seems very thin from the top, especially when she wears pants/jeans where you can’t see her legs. While her legs appear heavy compared to the rest of her, they’re by NO means fat.
It might be that Katie just wears her pants plumber-style that makes her torso seem so long.
And come on! If you were married to a megalomaniac midget you’d have to wear flats too! Not her fault!!
It doesn’t help that those shorts don’t flatter her at all.
The shorts are slipping down therefore making her legs appear shorter than they are.

El Pato, the gossip rags at the grocery stores seem to think so. The photos on the cover of one of them right now have her looking so unhappy.
It’s the heinous jean shorts. Seriously. 1987 called and they want them back. Katie – you have GOBS of money. For crying out loud, go shopping. Feel free to take me along if you want.
I have sympathy for poor little Katie. I, too, suffer from Long Torso Syndrome. In the 70′s it was hell trying to wear my osh kosh overalls. Talk about a front wedgie! Yee-ouch! I often refer to myself as “crocodilian”, meaning long torso and short arms and legs. Now I have made myself seem like a total freak! I agree the shorts are HORR-EE-BLAY as the french would say. I’m just still pissed that she made an appearance on “So You Think You Can Dance” a few seasons ago. And NO!! She can’t dance! Ok, enough.
