I feel exactly the same way. I hate bodies of water where I can’t see what’s on the bottom.
I grew up in FL and was used to the ocean. My grandparents in Indiana took us to a cabin on a series of lakes when I was little, north of Indianapolis. When my feet touched the bottom of the lake, it was fuzzy! I could not stand on the lake bottom for fear of what was in the fuzz!
That’s where the lurking attack turtles await their unsuspecting prey.
