I think I’ve told y’all that Junior Mock is in a very small class, with just two other kids (also severely disabled). His teacher is basically the best teacher who ever lived, and in addition to HER being awesome, Junior also gets daily visits from other kids in the high school. This is his most favorite thing ever.
Before school started, when Junior’s teacher and I were emailing each other and I was telling her everything there was to know about Junior, one of the things I said was, “He will ultimately become your favorite. You may not be allowed to ADMIT IT, but I’m just telling you right now, this is what always happens. He will charm you and you will fall in love with him and there is really just no getting around it.” And she was perfectly gracious and of course replied that she never has favorites in her classroom. And she probably wouldn’t even admit it now, but I know he is. Because it’s impossible to meet him and not fall in love with him.
ANYWAY.
Yesterday, she sent me a photo of him getting visited by three of his high school “Valentines.” And there was the normal mom part of me who saw this picture and was all, “Awwww – look at my happy, sweet, beaming, adorable baby” but then there was this OTHER part of me who thought, “HOLY CRAP MY SON IS A LADIES’ MAN.”
LOOK AT HIM.
And for those of you who have been curious about his recovery from his latest surgery, I’m happy to report that it’s been really good! His arms are still wonky, but will get much better with therapy, and he is no longer in any discomfort from his hips, which means he is back to his normal sleeping schedule, which means that WE ARE ALL VERY HAPPY IN THE MOCK HOUSE these days.
Kidney stone surgery in April will likely not be as smooth, but it must be done. It’s always something with that boy. But you know what? It doesn’t matter, because in the end, he looks like the happy kid in the picture above. And he is LOVED. And that makes it all ok.

He has a different smile than other pictures without girls! He is a ladies man!
This icture made me smile and my eyes well…thanks! He is a sweetie!
Actually he is a stud. The boy is handsome. the fact that he is easy to love makes it all the more sweet.
Heck I think I have fallen in love with him and I haven’t even met him.
I’m with Nancy…..this is a different smile. Good different. I think he’s a little over the moon being surrounded by all these pretty girls
That’s awesome!
ROP, totally agree. Mock, you really are blessed and such a great mom. Thanks for sharing.
Looking good!
Oh, my gosh! How handsome! Way to go, Junior. And thanks for the update. Glad he is doing so well.
Stud Muffin!
I find it very demoralizing when even my friends’ children get more sump’m sump’m than I do.
OMG! My heart is about to explode from seeing Junior so happy!!!
Thanks for sharing Mock! xo
I’m in total agreement with ER. Jr. Mock has a different smile with these beautiful, happy girls, than when you show his smiles at home. He has totally lit up the room! He is such a lucky boy to have you as his mother and have such a loving home.
I am very happy to hear that he’s recovering so well from his surgery. He looks more comfortable and he seems to be sitting up straighter, too.
I’m so glad to see him looking so GOOD! He does look very, very happy, and yes, it’s a different kind of smile.
Mock, I could have sworn you were going to say, ” … there was the normal mom part of me who saw this picture and was all, “Awwww – look at my happy, sweet, beaming, adorable baby” but then there was this OTHER part of me who thought, “Get those hussies away from my boy!” LOLOLOL
Thank God for Junior’s quick recovery. You really are an inspiration, not only you, Mock, but your whole family. I’m in awe.
Wow, amazing! He looks wonderfully happy! I’m so happy to hear how well is is doing.
OMG…I’m bawling right now. He is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this picture. Made my day.
That is an awesome photo! Definitely a “How YOU doin’?” kind of smile. Love!!!
That is the best smile I’ve ever seen on anyone, anywhere, ever!
I LOVE me some Junior Mock smiles! And yes…a stud indeed!
