The Mock Dock

So this whole Kinoki Foot Pad Experience gave me a great reason to reconnect with some old friends to alert them of our happy little blog’s good fortune.  And one such friend, Danny, hooked me up with this fabulous in-person photo he took of Barry Manilow in concert.  From the 6th row, I might add.

Now, I had reservations about posting this, because it meant that I would have to admit that I’m friends with someone who spent a bunch of money on primo Barry Manilow seats.  But then I realized that if given the opportunity, I myself would probably spend a bunch of money on primo Barry Manilow seats (if I weren’t convinced my husband would promptly kill me).

Anyway, LOOK AT BARRY’S SKIN.  Danny insists, and I tend to agree, that Barry Manilow (at least from the neck up)  is no longer made of actual human parts.  There is something totally synthetic about his face.  It’s as if his actual face has been replaced by some sort of waxy, pancake-makeup-y substance, and to throw people off, he styles his hair like a chow dog in the hopes we won’t notice.

I’m starting to think maybe Barry really HAS been alive forever.  And maybe he DID write the very first song.
