It is SO NOT FAIR that I haven’t seen one of these in person yet.
Perez Hilton. I’m not condoning violence, you guys, but if there was anyone who was ever kind of overdue for a punch in the face, it’s Perez Hilton. You may have heard that he got into a scuffle with Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas, which stemmed from Perez Hilton shouting a bunch of gay slurs at him. I repeat – PEREZ HILTON, a gay dude, shouted horribly offensive gay slurs at Will.i.am.
You know what I love about this whole thing? The fact that GLAAD has come out (no pun intended) AGAINST Perez. They said, “These are vulgar antigay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting antigay attitudes.”
And more: “We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this antigay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story,” GLAAD said.
I can’t wait to hear how Perez responds to THAT. Perhaps he’ll shout more gay slurs at them.
Now, do I think he SHOULD have gotten punched? No. But is there a teeny tiny part of me that is glad he did? Ummmm…….
