Winter. I think I hate winter more than almost anyone I know. And the thing about winter in Indiana is that it lasts for approximately 6 months, from November through April. Then, in May, we get about 4 days of spring, followed by five and a half months of summer, and then about a week of autumn. It’s the dumbest weather pattern ever.
Last night, we had about 10 inches of snow dumped on us. And it’s still snowing. I’m a prisoner in my home at the moment, because while I would have absolutely no problem getting in my car and having a go at it to get to work, I have a babysitter and a mother who DO have a problem getting in their cars and having a go at it to get to ME. They’re smarter and saner than I, clearly. And last I checked, it’s considered “bad parenting” to leave your kids at home alone. So trapped in my house I must stay, until such time as the city of Indianapolis decides to get more than one snow plow.
That’s probably an exaggeration. They probably have two snow plows.
You know what else I hate? I am in a neighborhood which has a Homeowner’s Association, and the dues that we pay go towards snow plowing. Except that I live on a dead end street which does NOT get plowed. So I’ve boycotted paying my dues this year, because I think that’s grossly unfair. I can be very self-righteous that way.
In honor of this snow day, I present you what is obviously the worst place to drive in the snow EVER. I have no idea where it is, but am glad I don’t live there. Except if it’s Indy, in which case I do.
